By the Grace of God, the effects of COVID19, have been minimized. Therefore, Mt. Zion, will on Sunday July 4th, 2021, open its doors again to the full Mt. Zion membership and visitors. In-class Sunday School will start at 9:00AM-10:00 AM. Church services will begin at 10:30AM.  All other Pre-Covid Ministry’s meetings/activities at the Church during the week will resume In-Person as before except for Bible Study which will remain online. Though we appreciate those that are fully vaccinated, we will not know who is or not. Consequently, we will still follow county and federal government guidelines closely with the below restrictions.

·       Masks will be required.

·       Temperatures will be checked (anyone’s temperature over 100 will be asked to leave).

·       Hands must be sanitized.

·       Social distance (3 feet apart in the pews except those that are from the same household).

Please click the below link for our updated Policy for Returning to Church for more details.

We will continue having our full online experience as well for those who want to continue worshipping with us from home. But no matter where we gather—in person or online, here or there—we’re Mt. Zion together!

If you have not been vaccinated, neither the State or Linn County Health Department (LCHD) recommends in-person participation of high-risk people defined as anyone over 65, anyone with underlying conditions, or anyone with exposure to or positive test to COVID 19 in the last 14 days. If you are over 65, we encourage you to participate through online methods unless vaccinated. However, we recognize the choice is for each individual to make.

God is still in control. Trust in Him, with all your heart: And lean not unto your own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  (Prov. 3:5,6)

27 June 2020 Update

Dear Saints,

There is absolutely nothing that comes upon us that God did not see long before it happens.  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). That said, Mt Zion has great news! On July 5th we will resume live in person Sunday School and Worship services in the Sanctuary only.  Sunday School will start at 9:00am and will only be for the adults, however, children are more than welcome to attend with their parent(s). Church services will begin at 10:30am but we will start seating at 10:00am due to COVID 19 screening so that we can start on time. We will be following county and government guidelines closely—practicing physical distancing (because we can still be social six feet apart!), limiting capacity, and not holding children’s nursery.

In general, masks are required to be worn inside the building when moving around, hands must be sanitized upon entry and temperature checks must be taken upon entry. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or more will be asked to return home for the safety of themselves and others. Please see the below link and click on the first file for the policy and procedure for returning to Church for more details.

24 Mar 2020 Update

Mt Zion has been reviewing a number of software Church Management tool that will allow us to facilitate urgent communications to our congregation and be more efficient in the administration matters of the Church. To this end Mt Zion has been looking into the use of a Church management solution call ChurchTrac.

This tool will enable us to manage people, groups, attendance, events, contributions and more. Additional features such as mass emailing and messaging will enable ChurchTrac to be the hub of communication for multiple ministries.

ChurchTrac’s membership management module tracks contact data, baptisms, interactions and other notes for members, visitors and prospects. Search tools allow administrators to find individuals or families in the database and create lists of people who meet custom search criteria. Additionally, members can be organized into various groups, such as small groups, committees and classes, and their communications and attendance related to those groups are tracked.

The giving module (more to come on this) provides tools to record and track contributions, pledges, and tithes. Administrators can also print tax statements for individual contributors and create comprehensive reports for reconciliation and reporting purposes.

Now in order for this to be a successful integration, I need for each Mt Zion member to complete their profile. Only you and the Church can see the data that you provide. It is imperative that all data such as email addresses and cell phone numbers be provided if you wish to receive urgent emails and text messages from the Church. The below link has been provided for you to establish your own separate login and password to complete your profile. Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Be Blessed!
