Luke 6:35

35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

As noted in 1 Corinthians 14:40, "Let everything be done decent and in order," the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board Ministry helps to maintain an orderly environment in the church that allows the people to hear the word of the Lord and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

The Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Usher is an Ambassador of Jesus Christ - an Ambassador represents who sent him/her. The Usher is the first official representative of Jesus Christ and the church to come into contact with people entering the house of the Lord.

During each service or event in which the Mt. Zion Ushers are on duty, they:

  • Greet all people as they enter the church with the love of Jesus Christ

  • Help members and guests feel welcomed, comfortable and ready to worship the Lord

  • Are glad that members and guests have come to join in worship.

Because the Usher is often the only official of the church to have one on one contact with people attending the church service, Colossians 4:6 helps to guide Mt. Zion Ushers as they interface with God’s people. It states "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each person".
